Branding
Ok, so topic for today is branding. I would say my first start at branding was around 2015. That’s when I initially started DJing consistently and was trying to push myself and my brand. My first imprint was called “Nice Boyz” which consisted of me and a couple of close friends. I bought a banner and had shirts made which were my main sources of promotion at the time. The most successful promotion strategy that I had came in 2018. My first logo was produced in 2018 and I eventually had it embroidered on hats. I feel that my strongest push was in 2018 where I was constantly going live, putting out mixes, and selling apparel by way of hats and shirts. I had a slight setback in 2019 and being that I had a lot going on personally I stepped back from selling apparel. In 2020 we know Covid was the main storyline of the year, I had just relocated to a new city however restrictions shut down the comeback marketing plan that I had envisioned. Fast forward to 2021, I’m in a much more focused place and ready to expand, branch out, and ultimately get out of my comfort zone in order to establish myself. Stay Tuned.

We Outside?
Ok, so I had a gig in Fremont, NC last night. To better explain its outside of the Goldsboro area. As you guys know it’s been a pandemic and since moving to Raleigh my DJ business has slowed down significantly. Restrictions and Curfews have pretty much slowed down the nightlife. This past Friday, Governor Cooper lifted restrictions in NC and Bars, lounges, and Clubs can open and enjoy a little more business. My first year here in Raleigh was pretty much the pandemic so I was in the house all year and did not get to go anywhere and do much networking. This is year two and I feel that I owe it to myself to get out there make some rounds and make a name for myself. It's never too late to apply pressure and go out and get results. Progression is needed, stay tuned.

Week 4 of my New Media Tools class and I’m at it again. I know I said I would stop procrastinating and I will get there one day. Unfortunately, that day is not today as its Sunday and I have assignments due at midnight. What I really need to do is work around my work schedule I order to get my assignments completed early. My usual off days are Thursdays and Saturdays which I aim to be the days that I complete my assignments. For some reason I always find a way to push them to Sunday. I work overnight so I also have time throughout the days to finish my work, yet I still push it off. The strange lesson that completing my assignments on Sunday is I can complete them in one day. Knowing that, all I ready need to do is just pick a day to focus.
